Woodlake Estates abides by the minimum Kenner Code but has additional building restrictions include house setback and side yard width. This applies to new construction and add-ons to existing structures.
Our front entrance is the biggest consumer of time and cash. As that is stabilized then street issues are our next biggest issue in a 50 year old subdivision.
We make sure that our District 5 representative at the Kenner City Council keeps up on our issues. We monitor the Council meetings to see what is being discussed.
Keeping all residents informed via newsletter and announcements is important both in print and electronic format.
1) Try to gather contact info 2) Encourage membership in the Civic Association 3) Disseminate info for those who do not have FB and where do not have emails 4) Be the spokesperson for the block to let the Civic Association know of significant issues.
We encourage all residents become members to stay in the loop. Establishing the comradery is important for our voice.
